CUPE 1287 is a composite local, representing workers in 11 units at workplaces throughout the Niagara Region. CUPE members are doing important work, providing vital public services around the clock. Our members work in sectors such as Administrative/Technical Services, Community Services, Environmental Services, Transportation Services, Metal Health Services, Criminal Justice Services, Humane treatment of Animals Services, Food Bank, Museum and more.
Founded in 1970, Local 1287 originally represented only workers at Regional Municipality of Niagara in the Social Services and Public Works Department, and administrative employees. Since that time, 1287 has become a composite Local representing workers in many more sectors.
